Fraud & Chargebacks

At Trustico® we take fraud prevention seriously and have strict policies in place to protect the integrity of our services and the security of all customers. Any attempt to obtain an SSL Certificate through fraudulent means, including false information or unauthorized payments, will not be tolerated.

If fraud is detected, we reserve the right to revoke the SSL Certificate immediately, which will remove encryption from the website and could put data at risk. Additionally, domains associated with fraudulent activity may be blacklisted, preventing them from obtaining an SSL Certificate in the future.

Our verification processes are designed to ensure that SSL Certificates are issued only to legitimate businesses and individuals. Any suspicious activity is carefully reviewed, and if necessary, action is taken to prevent the misuse of our services. Protecting online security is our top priority, and fraudulent behavior will not be tolerated.

Chargebacks Are Considered Fraudulent

A chargeback occurs when a customer disputes a payment with their bank or credit card provider rather than resolving the issue directly with the merchant. While chargebacks are intended to protect consumers from unauthorized transactions, they are often misused.

At Trustico®, we consider a chargeback to be a form of fraud when it is used to avoid payment for a legitimately purchased SSL Certificate. Filing a chargeback instead of contacting us first is a serious violation of our policies and may lead to severe consequences.

When a chargeback is received, the associated SSL Certificate will be immediately revoked, leaving the website unsecured. Furthermore, the domain name linked to the revoked Certificate may be blacklisted, preventing it from obtaining an SSL Certificate in the future.

Credit Reporting Agency Reporting

Fraudulent activity, including chargebacks made in bad faith, may result in the matter being reported to a credit reporting agency. This can negatively impact your credit rating and make it more difficult to obtain financial services in the future.

Trustico® reserves the right to escalate unresolved fraudulent disputes to relevant financial institutions, industry regulators, and credit agencies to ensure accountability.

A negative report on your credit file can have long-term consequences, affecting your ability to secure loans, credit cards, and other financial services. To avoid these repercussions, we strongly encourage customers to contact us directly to resolve any disputes before taking actions that could harm their financial standing.

Disputes Can Result in Additional Fees and Legal Action

If a chargeback or fraudulent dispute is filed against Trustico®, additional fees and administrative charges may be applied to recover costs associated with handling the dispute.

In cases where a chargeback is deemed fraudulent, we reserve the right to pursue legal action. This can include reporting the case to relevant financial institutions, law enforcement agencies, and industry regulators. Any outstanding balances may be referred to a debt collection agency, which can lead to further legal and financial consequences.

Engaging in fraudulent activity or misusing chargebacks can not only impact your ability to obtain SSL Certificates in the future but may also result in long-term damage to your credit and business reputation.

Contact Us First for Any Disputes

We understand that disputes can sometimes arise, and we encourage all customers to contact us directly before considering a chargeback. Our support team is always available to discuss any concerns regarding payments, SSL Certificates, or account-related issues.

Whether it’s a billing error, a misunderstanding about the service, or a refund request, we are committed to finding a resolution that works for both parties. By reaching out to us first, you can avoid unnecessary disruptions to your SSL Certificate and website security.

Disputing a charge directly with us allows for a much faster and more efficient resolution. We are here to assist with any concerns and will do everything possible to resolve disputes in a fair and transparent manner.

Trustico® Stands for Security and Fairness

Fraud, including chargebacks, is not tolerated at Trustico®. We are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy SSL Certificate issuance process while ensuring fairness for all customers.

If you ever have questions or concerns, we urge you to contact our team so we can work together to find the best solution. Keeping your website secure is our priority, and open communication is key to achieving that goal.
